2011-10-19 - NTM 1.3

Main changes in this version:

Support for Network Manager v0.9 (e.g. used in ubuntu 11.10). Now ntm detect the running version of network manager (v0.8 or v0.9) and then communicate in the right way with it.
In unity (appindicator) the icon color changes when the connection state changes.
Now the icon is visible also in kde.
Add autorun for LXDE.
Tested on Ubuntu 11.10 with Unity, Unity 2D, Gnome Shell, Gnome fallback; Kubuntu 11.10; Xubuntu 11.10; Lubuntu 11.10; Ubuntu 11.04; Ubuntu 10.10.

In this version:

Some bugfix.
Increase the integration with Unity.

In Unity the icon doesn't change the color when the state of the connection change. The action for left click doesn't work.

This version show the notify icon also in Unity. Install the new version and after the first run of NTM, you will do the logout and then a login, now you can view the icon.

New features from 1.0:

Add Import and Export of connections and traffic data.
You can clear the connection and traffic data.
You can activate the behaviour of the click over the system tray icon:
- Show the main window.
- Show a NotifyOSD message with a summary.
The system tray icon change the colour according to online state, I also changed the style of these in order to integrate better with the default gnome themes. (if you want change the icon, replace this icon /usr/share/ntm/stf/ntm.svg for the offline state. change /usr/share/ntm/stf/ntm_active.svg for the online state)
Main window: remember the last position and size.

Bugfix:

Changed the icons, now work with Ubuntu 9.04.
In the Time Module, the autoupdate of period now work fine.
Autorun in KDE and Ubuntu 9.10 Netbook Remix.
Fix some the bug into installation script:
- Now any user (different from the user that has installed NTM) can run NTM properly.
- You can install a new versions of NTM without having to uninstall the previous version. Warning! If you have istalled a version of NTM < 1.2 then you must first uninstall the old version and then proceed to installing the new version.
Fix the bug: Division by 0 in the Time module.
Now NTM handle properly the event generated after deselect "Enable network" in NetworkManager Applet.
Info/news is loaded in the startup only in the online state.
Now for Info/News and Report is used webkit as web browser engine (package python-webkit).
Some bugfix in ntmtools.formatTime.
Some fix for Ubuntu 10.04.

Attention! Install the last version only after you remove the old version.
I you install the 1.2 version from a version >=1.0 , the traffic data will not be lost.

2009-11-01 - NTM 1.0 (Drunken Monkey) is born!

Features:

New module for monitoring the time.
For every module (Traffic, Time, TimeSlot) is possible to set:
- Active/Deactive.
- Auto-disconnect if the limit is reached.
- Monitor period: Day, Week, Month,Year and Costum days; You can auto-update the period.
- Now you can see in the monitor window this fields: Percentage; Period; Estimate Traffic, Slots or Time usage in the end of period.
The TimeSlot Module show a notification (with NotifyOSD) when a new slot is used.
Add Online Check Mode: Now NTM can check the online state by NetworkManager or Ping. The "Ping Mode" is useful when the connection is not managed from NetworkManager.
Add in the status bar the interface name and the connection state.
Inproved the report:
- You can select the period.
- The first report show the average values for the traffic e session.
- The second report show for each days the in/out/total traffic used.
Add the "Info & New" window, with the news and update informations for NTM.
NTM check every some days if exist a new version.
Some change to improve the usability and the performance.
Fix some bug.
This release is tested and work with Ubuntu 9.10 (Karmic Koala), Ubuntu 9.04 (Jaunty Jackalope).
I plan to test NTM over Kubuntu 9.04, Kubuntu 9.10, Ubuntu Netbook Remix, ...
In the next days I release a compatible version for Ubuntu 8.10 (Intrepid Ibex) and derivated distributions (distro. with a 'old' python).
